Grizzlies to host 2027 BCHL All-Star Weekend

The Victoria Grizzlies hockey team will host of next season’s All-Star Weekend on January 22 and 23, 2027.

The announcement came last week from the BC Hockey League (BCHL).

The two-day event will be hosted at The Q Centre, home of the Victoria Grizzlies.

The event is significantly sponsored by the City of Langford, which is one of the five municipalities west shore Greater Victoria municipalities that co-owns the Westshore Parks and Recreation (WSPR) which operates The Q Centre.

The Q Centre is located in Colwood, one of the other four municipal owners of WSPR. The other municipal owners oft The Q are Metchosin, Highlands and View Royal.

Exciting opportunity for Langford:

“Hosting the 2027 BCHL All-Star Weekend is an exciting opportunity for Langford and the West Shore,” says Langford Mayor Scott Goodmanson.

“This is another example of how the City of Langford is reinvesting its hotel tax revenue to attract events that strengthen our local economy by supporting local businesses and bringing people together in a shared community spirit. We look forward to welcoming players, families, and fans for an exciting weekend,” says Goodmanson.

“The BCHL is thrilled to be heading to the West Shore for this year’s All-Star Weekend,” said league Commissioner Steven Cocker. “The addition of the Canada vs. World format last season really brought out the passion from our players and fans, which made for an elevated experience for everyone involved.”

“We would also like to thank the City of Langford for their incredible support of this event, as well as the Victoria Grizzlies organization for stepping up to host. The BCHL could not be more excited to be heading to the provincial capital in January,” says Cocker.

Saturday night game:

For the year in a row, the event will feature a Canada vs. World All-Star Game on the Saturday night.

The weekend will also include an Alumni and Friends Game and Skills Competition, as well as participation from BCHL alliance leagues the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) and the Western International Junior Hockey League (WIJHL).
